I try not to panic at this time of year. Everyone should feel the same. We manage to get open for the Thanksgiving holiday and then it snows for three weeks straight giving everyone those “Powder Smiles” that have been vacant expressions in people’s faces since September.

MASTER PLAN (as always, weather dependant)

Snowmass Opening Park November 26th = Dawdler Bowl area for a jump and advanced jib line AND Water Plant Flats (where our opening park was last year) with an intermediate jib line and beginner jib line.

This is twice the amount that we were given to open with last year and your suggestions were taken to the top…YOU ALL WANT TO JUMP AND SO DO WE! On top of trying to get the Dawdler line open our plan is to have the triple line under Coney Glade Chair ready to line up and hit around December 20th …did I mention that we are shooting for a four pack of jumps instead of a triple line…gotta keep improving to stay on top!

Also, in case you haven’t heard yet…we are going to have two 22 foot Superpipes at Aspen Snowmass this year. The Snowmass Superpipe is set to open at the end of the first week of January and it will be a 22 footer…2 in one resort, how lucky are you?!

Buttermilk Opening Park December 12th = Top to bottom jib line starting on Teaser all the way to the base. It is too far out to predict what we will be able to do but this is our PLAN A. The Buttermilk 22′ Superpipe build starts between December 5th and 10th and we are aiming to provide a stunt ditch…excuse me, THE STUNT DITCH around the 20th.

If snow allows we are really going to do our best to get a solid line of jibs bringing you from the top of the mountain all the way to the base. Keep thinking snow!

This rally is no joke, it was a 16 stage rally over two days taking place on the many hick/dirt roads Steamboat has to offer. It was so awesome, best time ever. The race is 150 miles, of gnarly. It was my first race ever and Jakes as well, so we had no clue what we were getting into. At registration Jake was handed his direction books, we both looked at each other in awe. We could not believe the size of the books with the directions that Jake had to give me for the race. It was so overwhelming. We started the race at 7:30 am drivers meeting and then 8:00am start. Of course we are slow so we started in the back of the pack, at 8:27am. Travis Pastrana and Ken Block were the first to start followed by the rest. There were 35 cars all lined up to go. Off we went.

Our goal was just to finish the race with out breaking the car and with out crashing. Sounds easy, but its not. Rally races have 35%-40% chance of not finishing the race, and as rookies even higher. But on the other hand I wanted to see how fast I could go. We surprised everyone there by just finishing it. Let alone we beat some people. Ha Ha. We finished 20th out of 35 and 4th in our class. We were in a class with all wheel drive cars and no turbo. We saw some nice crashes and had a few close calls but we held it together for the entire race. So pumped, I am hooked and can’t wait for the next race. Here are some pics, and video.

So basically I have just been doing some off season training, biking, running and gym that sort of stuff. I went to summer X games in LA and that was awesome, hence the lost camera. I head of to NZ tonight with Simon for three weeks of training, then back to the good old USA. BOO YEAH.

Here are some sick pics of my new hobby, rally. So I actually bought a legit car, and had to drive down to San Diego to pic it up. So Jake Largess, and Nate Abbott came with me for the car ride. It was drive all day Friday. Get the car sat drive back on Sunday, Hell trip as Jake called it.

Now for the fun part. So I have been talking and working with this rally shop out of Denver called Salta Motorsports, and they took me out to the rally track to teach me how to drive a bit. The track is called CORE, and its east of Denver. Its a 2.3 mile loop that is surrounded by big sunflowers so its nice and safe. I will be doing a rally race in Steamboat on the 17-20 of sept when I get back from NZ. So pumped. Here are some pics of me going fast.

Driving there the car was a bit rattly but we made it no problem. Oh its also very hot because there is no ac and the windows don’t roll down. We were not phased by the heat and were ready to see what the track had to offer. We paid our ten dollars and we were off.

So here is where we ran into our very first little problem with the neon.  The super sleek and sturdy bumper got rallied off on the second lap.  No big deal just throw it in the trunk and its all good to go.
